Well, it looks like I am now a part of the 2014 Silverado AC failure club. I purchased my truck October 2014. I just dropped my truck off this morning at the dealer today with just over 25k miles on it. AC NOT WORKING !!!

Aside from the AC the starter is making a funny noise when cranking first thing in the morning and the drivers seat clicks when making turns. The dealer is to look into these problems also.

I will update once I hear something back from the dealer.

Hi Jwhitesides,

We truly apologize for this, and completely understand your frustrations! If you would like for us to reach out to the dealership on your behalf as well, we would be happy to do so. Just send us over a private message . We look forward to your updates with this!

Default a/C go near 18000 miles

Well, after the hell of owning 2 Fords and a Jeep I screwed up and bought a 2014 silverado. First year of a new engine to boot. Day 1, replace the back seat. A month later it leaves me stranded 60 miles from home. A new main computer was needed. Now, the A/C! It's pushing 100F and we have reservations at a campground for Friday. Considering it takes 4 hours for an express oil change I can only imagine the headache this is going to cause. My dealer doesn't even know if they have a loner.
I've had 4 American cars and 7 foreign. Only the American ones have given me trouble and made me wait months for recall parts. This IS my only Chevy. Like Ford and Jeep, GM has proven that buy American means buying low quality.

My AC on my 2014 Silverado quit this past week on a road trip in East Texas. Temperature over 100 degrees. The truck is currently at the dealer.

Update to my A/C issue. Took it to my dealer first thing the next morning. It was repaired within 2 hours. Apearently the hose coming off the bottom of the compressor was not well supported causing it to leak. They replaced the hose and installed a new support bracket.
So far I'm not impressed with the truck's reliability. My dealer is excellent though. Dale Jr. In Tallahassee.

Ok, just to update everyone... I got my truck back that Friday. The following fixes where applied:

1) AC not working: Replaced faulty line (I believe it was the compressor to condenser line) and recharged system.
I was told this is not an uncommon problem. Shame on GM for not recalling the faulty lines. If my line had made it another 10k miles I would have had to eat the cost to repair.
I don't know if a bracket was added or replaced as mentioned by another post here. I will take a look.

2) Driver seat clicking in turns: Dealer greased seat. I don't know exactly where but the clicking is gone.

3) Starting making noise: Dealer was unable to replicate when they had it. It made the noise the other day when I got the truck back. I will be returning it for this but I will probably wait until just before the 36k warranty expiration.

They representative a Parkway Chevrolet - Kevin Garcia was very pleasant to deal with and was accommodating with the situation. Parkway and Kevin get an A+ for this.

Default Just happened to me

2014 Silverado 57000 miles and the truck will be in the shop. Yellowish fluid leaking where the compressor is located. Dealer tell me its anti freeze... Yeah right...ac blows hot air...temp not over heating. This is my 8th Chevy... Never once an ac repair or problem. Not a happy camper right now. This should be recalled. Cheaper made parts = headaches. At least I have the 100,000 bumper warranty. But may be my last Chevy.

Default 2014 Silverado AC Blues...

My 2014 Silverado has just over 18k miles on it and has been a pleasure to drive. That was until yesterday, when my AC completely went out in the middle of 100+ degree Florida weather. I would like to take it to my local dealership but I am concerned that repairs will take several days and that they won't have a loaner vehicle available.

So my options seem to be to suffer through this sweltering heat with no AC for another week and take it to the dealership next weekend. Or drop it off with them and pay for a rental so I can get to work this week.

Every truck I have ever owned has been a Chevy or GMC and I have never had a problem with any of them until now...

Apparently this is a common problem. I have had no problems with my truck since I purchased it. My truck has been parked at the airport for a week while I was out of town. I started it when I returned this afternoon and it was blowing hot. It was blowing ice cold when I parked the truck. The fan and all the controls seem to work fine. The 2 hours drive home in 102 degree weather with no ac wasn't much fun. I use my truck for work so putting my truck in the shop is money out of my pocket. Ive always had good experiences with chevy in the past. My last truck was a 2010 Silverado I put 250000 miles on it and never had a single problem. Looks like im not going to have the same experience with this truck and Ive only put 21000 miles on it.
