Left side running board activates on its own after truck is stopped and off and locked. Board will come out to rear tire go back in, come out and so on. Many times it is out in the morning. Very random. When truck is operating it is ok. Has there been any bulletins on this? Anyone else had this experience? What is the fix?

 

Having same issues on 2017 GMC Sierra. Passenger running board keeps extending to rear of truck when parked.

it’s the foot switch on the running board it needs replaced or unplugged

 

I just had this problem with the left board. I replaced the kick switch. Problem solved. Around $100. You will have to hold down the running board switch in the cab for ten seconds to reactivate the boards.
