Default Priming/not priming fuel pump

What would cause the fuel pump to not prime after my '17 Silverado has been sitting overnight? I've noticed that when it does not prime when I open the drivers door the truck will not start. Is this normal?
Thanks.

Does it not start at all, or does it crank for a while before starting? It sounds like from what are saying that it loses it's prime overnight, but will start. This is because the check valve in the fuel pump is bad., If this is the case then you need to replace the fuel pump assembly or add a check valve into the fuel line.

It won't start at all if I don't hear the fuel pump when I open the drivers door after it's been sitting for a while. Won't even turn over. Battery and alternator have both been checked and are fine. GM is telling me to pull the PEPS/HVAC fuse for 5 minutes and then plug it back in and restart until they get a computer update out early next year.

It did it again this morning. No fuel pump priming...no humming noise...and the truck would not start. After 10 or 15 minutes I opened the drivers door and heard the fuel pump priming and the truck started.
This is making no sense to me!!!

GM Please Help!!!
