I have a friend with a 2021 5.3 with failed lifters, and the dealer is saying some fuel lines that have to be removed to make the repairs are not reusable -- and backordered. They are estimating several months.

Are there seriously non-reusable fuel lines on these vehicles? I have not worked on current engines since 2000ish (stopped working on others' then, and all my new cars have avoided needing repairs so far), but that seems like such a strange way to go.
