Instrument cluster dimming

Have a 2020 Silverado. How do I dim the lights on the instrument cluster? Searched the handbook and cant find anything. Can it be done? Thanks.

in daylight, place something over light sensor on dash, after a second or three, you can dim. But during daylight hours it returns to normal when you remove cover. I found I could only dim mine after dark !
