Default Brake problem

I recently had a backyard mechanic install new rotor's and new front brake pads and in about 6 days fter he installed them I am now having problems with the brakes. When i go to apply the brakes there is a clicking sound and the brakes will fail until I hit them again about two to three times then they will catch. My ABS lights stays on a lot as well and when the clickiing sound starts the light will stay on until I get the engine off. Could someone tell me what is wrong? Did he forget to hookup something? I will not go back to this guy and hope someone can help me find out what he done wrong. I guess now I may be in for a lot more money to fix what ever he did wrong.

Thank you for your reply,
Rustybolt.

95 corsica??

brakes are pretty straight forward on these cars. Pull the wheels off and look for anything obvious.

My brother told me it sounded like the guy messed up the ABS sensor's. He told me maybe the guy was rough in putting on the rotors and pads and he meesed the sensors up. He had a Corsica and the same thing happened to him. So I guess I will be going to a better mechanic to fix my problem.
