Gps
What am I missing here ?
I purchased a 2012 SS Camaro and am mostly, very happy with it.
When purchased, it of course, came with Onstar. No big deal, figured I could simply opt out of it an then have a GPS unit put in.
I am assuming at this point, this is not possible.
Can't figure out why a car that cost me a lot of money, has no way of working with the latest technology and would allow me to put in a unit that is not going to cost me a fee every month !!
Yes, I have a smartphone, love the Google map function, but really . . . a car that cost this much and there is now way that I can have an internal GPS function !
Just checking to make sure that I have not missed something here !!

I don't know if it can be swapped in either. if they can't replace and reprogram the new head unit due to options mismatches, have an aftermarket head unit with gps installed...probably cheaper than a new factory head unit and programming costs.
Cars that cost a lot come with fees these days. There's salaries to pay at onstar.
rethappy: Welcome to the forum.
Not sure what technology you are expecting the car to work with.
If a navigation system is available w/ a Camaro, it probably is about $2K+ option. Check Crutchfield for head unit/GPS combos that will work w/ your car. Will be cheaper and better than the GM version which is a POS in my opinion when compared to a Garmin. Plus $200 for a map upgrade stinks.
