1989 Caprice,Cranks but won`t start?
My 89 Caprice has been hard to keep runnung right after starting,"won`t idle" and then yesterday it just won`t start - period. It`s a 350 w/ auto trans, and has a throttle body. Cranks like crazy but doesn`t seem to be getting fuel? What`s the first two sensors to check/replace?Is there a reset button for the fuel pump? Headed for NAPA to get their advice too.I`ve never dealt w/ a throttle body b4 so I`m really in the dark.Thanks. ~ dale

I tried the suggestion of turning key on/off-on/off several times and then trying to start it.Notta! Then loosened the fuel line where it connects to the throttle body...no gas??? NAPA was closed and Library too...will go both places tomorrow for more research....I also checked wires to oil pressure sensor and they were tight...squirted starting fluid in TB and it fired right up....

Replaced pump and filter on pump and fuel pump module under hood.Starts right up and sounds good. Will replace in line fuel filter tomorrow.Quite a bit of dirt in tank.Drained it and cleaned tank and replaced with fresh gas.So glad that`s over.
