1993 caprice leaks oil
found a 1993 caprice classic with 178000 miles i was thinking of buying the only thing is the guy says it has a oil leak and looses about a quart of oil a month if that.what would cause this and what should i look for when i go to look at it

it all depends where, it could be the gaskets on the motor, it could be a hole in the oil pan, it could be the drain plug, or could be burning it, so you really just have to look

Well I own a 92 chev caprice, with a 305 in it, I have no serious leaks, just oil sweats all over the block. I have had a few drops come off of it, when I have it parked at an odd angle, and it was near the rear of the block. They're not really known for any serious leaks, just seals the sweat after age.

As has been mentioned , stripped drain plug is very common . :-(
Start looking at the top , probably valve covers . Try working your way down with your inspection .
God bless
