My wife has a 2014 captiva Ltz. This only happened a few times over the year. When she has been sitting at work with the car idling and the heater on when she shuts car off coolant leaks from somewhere on the back side of the motor closest to the firewall of the cab and onto the exhaust. Does not drain reservoir or all the coolant. And only leaks for a minute or so but in large. Has anyone had this problem and is there anything i need to look for..

 

are you sure it's coolant and not just water condensing off the evaporator core?

 

Do you end up needing to add coolant? Does it smell like antifreeze off the exhaust??
