Hello everyone, this is my first post on this forum. My Cav will crank forever and not start. i have done a bunch of tests and have narrowed the problem to a fuel issue. I spray starter fluid in the engine and it started and died. I am new to the car repair thing, but I am very adapt with machines so I'm pretty sure once the problem is identified, I can take care of it. It started when my battery completely died and I installed a replacement, Please help me figure this out, thank you.

 

do you hear the whine from the fuel pump when you turn the ignition on? if not it is a fuel pump issue, most commonly you replace the fuel pump, but sometimes it is a relay, so check the fuel pump relay first

 

I actually do hear a hum or buzz when I turn the car on. Might it be a fuel filter problem?

 

could be, if u havent changed it before, i would sugesst doing so
