Year ago I had the same problem mentioned on other posts. Key hard to position in ignition switch to start car. Had to wiggle it. One day I got absolutely nothing when turning the key, as if the battery was totally dead. No power - no nothing. Waited an hour and it started. Drove down the block and it quit on me when I turned the turn signal. The dealership replaced the ignition switch. Car started fine. The following week I turned the key and got nothing. The same problem was back. Battery was fine. Do I have a strange electrical problem, or can someone hip me to some common Cavalier problem that acts as if the battery is totally dead? Do I need new CPS, ICM or ignition switch column. Please help.
