Ok y'all searched most of pages i know this must have been brought up before, so here we go.

I know i have a short some where just cant locate it. Running lights wont come on, low beams work, but when you hit brights drivers side goes out. Where do i start ?? Someone had mentioned there is a part of wiring harness for them behind front bumper cover area, but cannot locate the bare wire what so ever really starting to bug the heck outta me. ANY HELP WILL GRATEFULL AND NEEDED, THANKS IN ADVANCE ANTHONY

p.s. this is on a 1998 cavi 2.2 motor 4 door car dont know if this pertinent or not ??


and also i am looking for a newer cavi to update the looks of our 98 to change the newer style lights and tails i know i have to change fenders and such already but we need front rear bumper covers already so figured why not change the apperance of the car, I know i can go up to 2000 maybe 2001 for the transplant. But can i get a 2002 style with the real slimmer type headlight's and the tail panel that over the whole back of trunk ( i want to wire it up to light it up at night, and brightly when brakes are applied

There is a 2.0 and a 2.8 , are you sure its not one of those?

its possible the DRL's are burnt out as is one of the the hi beam lamps.
start off with the head lights, they are more important, move the high beam lamp to the other side that will eliminate the lamp.
The lamps may just need to be re-seated in their sockets.
some DRL's won't come on if the parking brake is set...

Mike uh yea this is what were available for 1998 cavi's not the 2.0 and 2.8
1.1998 Chevrolet Cavalier Base Sedan
2.1998 Chevrolet Cavalier Base Coupe
3.1998 Chevrolet Cavalier LS Sedan

all these came with this: Engine 2.2L L4 115HP

4.1998 Chevrolet Cavalier Z-24 Convertible
5.1998 Chevrolet Cavalier Z-24 Coupe

these two came with this: Engine 2.4L L4 150HP

you know about the years i was talking about right was 1998 not the earlier ones??

and is there A RELAY IN THE PARK BRAKE HANDLE AREA?? For i know the last time we used it is when we clicked it one click to go thru the lighted x-mas display last winter and like a month later they quit.

O ok, you wrote 1988 in your first post. Thats what manual i was looking at & was confused. No wonder I could not find the DRL schmatic, they didnt exist yet.
