hi everyone, my 97 cavalier z24 does not start anymore, i checked fuses and could not see anything out of order under the hood, the battery works fine, and so do the power windows, sunroof, and locks. but the interior lights don't work, and there's no lights on the cluster. i do have the additional fuel pump disengage keypad when i got the car, and that does not get power either, anyone know what it could be? any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated

 

does anyone have any ideas? i dont really want to have to deal with towing and getting the car to a shop, especially if its a simple fix

 

Do your fuel pumps work? Do you know how to check that? That might be the reason. What about your spark plugs?

 

thanks for the reply, the fuel pump doesnt engage because theres no power getting to the passlock ( i think thats what its called, the fuel pump keypad thing). because without that having the correct code in it just tries to turn over, but doesnt do anything.

 

Can you take a picture of this keypad you mentioned, and post it?

 

Check under the dash for a fuse of some sort. It won't be with the rest of the fuses. Follow the wires of the keypad

but i dont think its an issue with it because it doesnt get power along with the interior dash lights and everything, ill check under the dash for fuses when i get home

i checked under the dash of the car, and didn't see any fuses, i saw the hookups for the computer, obd hookup. i don't know if you meant the side compartment fuse panel, but that's all fine

 

follow the wires from the keypad to the relay. Cut out the relay and reconnect the wires that it interupted.
