Default off and on warning lights

I have a 1998 z24 have replaced quite a few parts to date recently being a new gauge cluster, car runs great the only problem having when shifting car to drive or reverse the warning light come up on the cluster randomly and sometimes the radio cuts off and on while driving, not being very good with electric issues having a idea it could be coming from the shifter area possibly looking for some guidance on this issue Thanks

Well.... The battery light & Service lights had been going on and off on my 02 for the past few years, I just ignored them of course, because the car runs fine, oil's clean, battery voltage/charging normal, etc. However, Had to replace the water pump last week and, since I was working outside in the weather it was a two-day project, during which time the battery was disconnected. Hooked the battery back up and.... no more warning lights anymore - all normal. However, I had disconnected the battery for short periods of time prior to this, and it had no effects on the warning lights. So perhaps leaving the battery disconnected for a couple of days gave the computer time to properly reboot itself.
