Car had fuel pump replaced last year, so I don't think it's that. I have a 2003 Cavalier and the other day it wouldn't start. I pumped the gas three times and started it and it started, but the engine was shaking and the car sounded like it was going to die. I was able to back it out onto the street and park it. When I got out I smelt a burning or oil kind of gas smell. Not sure what that was because I hadn't experienced that. My guess would be a problem in the fuel system but I'd like to get a better idea before heading into the car shop so they don't try and take advantage of me (i'm a young blonde woman, so it happens). Any suggestions or help please?! Thanks! Oh and when I repeated it, had to do the same thing and had the same outcome.
