I have 3 remote fobs for different members of the household. My daughter told me that today her car would not autostart, it just beeps 3 times. I tried my fob and it started right up, my wifes worked too. I thought that the battey might be going since she uses the car the most. I took the battery out and check it with the Radio Shack battery tester and it was good. I cannot find anything on beep codes for the 2009 Cobalt............now what.........besides going back to the dealer...........cha-ching.......

if it is a factory gm remote start it is disabled by a bunch of things. IE, low fuel, check engine light and the most common actual problem is the hood latch is shorted and it thinks the hood is open.

 

is this a factory 1 way remote start or 2way remote start? Did the car came with 2 fobs orginally and you had 1 added to the system later?
pretty sure that the factory remote start system can have up to 4 fobs but only 2 can be programmed to have the remote start option. I may be mistaken.

The system will not allow 3 remote starts in a row. the ignition key must be cycled after 2 consecutive remote start activation.
