I have a 2009 Colorado Z71 4wd. It will move in forward position but not in reverse. I’m having to have a transponder key made cause of new switch. Went to load on trailer an it wouldn’t roll back. Put *** end up on a floor jack to raise up off ground. Driver side back tire will spin forward but not backwards and passenger side back tire spins both directions. What could cause this? Transmission or rearend

 

Sound to me like your front axle or hub has an issue.

 

So why do you say front axle or hub??

You said that the rear axle was fine. What else but a busted up,front axle or hub?

 

I never mentioned that rear axle as fine. I said that the drive side rear tire WILL SPIN FORWARD but WILL NOT spin BACKWARDS. Passenger rear tire WILL spin BOTH DIRECTIONS. The driver side rear wheel locks up
