Truck won't restart.
This has happened 3x in the last 2 years. 2011 with 3.7L 4WD. Doing errands with the truck. Make 2 or 3 stops. Stop the truck. Get out and do errand. Return 10 to 20 minutes later, insert the ignition key, turn the key, engine does not crank. Dash lights are dim
Faint or no click.e from
Wait 30 minutes or so and the truck will start. Just happened again two days ago. Hooked up a pair of cables (battery seems good, less than 2 years old) and stood next to the truck. After about 15 minutes I heard a loud clang type of noise come from the bowels of the engine compartment. Got in and turned the key. Truck started right up. Any advice apprectated.

Believe it or not many years ago I got real luck with a battery that lasted 7 years in my Chevy Nova. Never had one last that long since then,
[QUOTE=oilcanhenry;438627]Still could be the battery. They just don't make them like they used to. Many come from China, and othe Asian country where Q-C is lacking.

Thanks Henry. Battery tests good. The loud "click" I heard did not seem to come from battery, as i was resting my lower arm on the front fender inches from the battery. I realize the noise may have been something cooling down but motor had been inactive over a half hour in 45 degree weather.
