I bought a new tube to change it on my flat car tire. But I don't know how to remove (and reinstall) the tire from the rim. I thought that was as simple as on a bicycle.

 

Welcome to the forum. 2011 was the first year for the Cruze in the U.S. market. I won't say it's the worst debut of any GM vehicle but it certainly isn't the best. There are already one recall and half a dozen campaigns as well as a growing list of TSBs. I think a lot of driveability concerns are due to the 6-speed automatic transaxles built by GM Daewoo of Korea. You have to ask yourself, do you feel lucky?

P.S. I hate to say this but you may want to consider the Jeep Patriot. I'm sure you can get one in your price range if you pick and choose the options carefully. Stay with the front-wheel drive if possible since I don't like its AWD setup in terms of longevity.

Louis, dude, you just lost all my respect. What's with the "GM Certified Pre-Owned" blurb? Why would there be 2011 Cruzes in that channel? If that isn't the surefire way to inherit someone else's problem, I don't know what is. The "172-point inspection" isn't going to "find" the drivability problems nor all the squeaks, rattles, and clunks. In your copious free time, since you had to have time to make this most biased and misleading post, you may want to check out Chevy Cruze Forum : Chevrolet Cruze Forums for what some of the hapless owners are going through.

 

the direct injection turbo engine technology and vvt is definitly where everything is headed. Whatever you buy...get something with that. The power and economy combination are fantastic.

 

I have a 2011 LS which is the worst car I've ever owned.Lousy transmission,paint peeling & chipping,heater died at -16,coolant smell they can't trace,tires lose air constantly,seat belt broken,20 mpg city-and I have a pretty light foot.(I've owned it for 6 months-5500 km on it-been in at dealers more than my old Cavalier in 12 years.)Every day something else goes wrong with it-but apparently some cars were good..do you feel lucky is right on.BTW-I'm not that fussy-I was one of the few who loved my Chevy Vega! What's worse is that GM isn't doing anything to fix these cars.

 

I have the Daewoo built Cruze 150 bhp Diesel auto for the past two years and no warranty claims so far at 17500 miles. There have been two recalls faulty fuel line & seat harness.carried out at the service. The car has excellent roadholding but poor ride on rough UK roads. The instrument dial display is unsafe as it can not be read when travelling fast or in strong sunlight especially when wearing sun glasses. far better on the early Dodge Caliber.In the UK we get ripped off with a inferior specifcation to the US models. No Watts Z link suspension, No powered foldback door mirrors, no tyre pressure monitor,poor quality windscreen. However I find the six speed autobox excellent and there is virtually no torque steer bad on the Caliber. Downside is poor resale value in the UK, poor sales and I expect the car to disappear like the Dodge Caliber because of hopeless marketing by Chev. UK. In two years I have only seen two other CRUZE cars on our roads.

 

I have a 2011 Cruze LTZ., It has 4,300 miles on it with no issues. It drives great with no problems. Have had no recalls yet. Hopefully it will last. We previously had a Trailblazer which was nothing but trouble but was supposed to be good. The Trailblazer almost made stop buying Chevrolets. My Silverado is fantastic.

 

We're talking about a diesel Cruze sold in the UK (not the same powertrain tuning) and a low-mileage Cruze (presumably in the US, NA or turbo?). I've made no secret of my disdain for anything built or designed by Daewoo. It's going to be interesting, at least to me, how you all feel a year or two down the road.

 

It is US built CRUZE that are catching FIRE (Cruze Talk.com. My CRUZE caught FIRE after oil change) not Daewoo built ones.
