Default 2016 Chevy Cruze

About 6 weeks ago my chevy Cruze started acting up. It sat for a week. Has been fine since but now the problem is back.

the problem:
when traveling at slower speed 30-40 car doesn’t seem to make same power. When traveling at highway speed with Cruze set, it needs about 500-750 more rpm to travel at same speed used to. Also when cuise control is set, say at 70 it will slowly slow down to 67 or 68 then rev to 3800-4000 rpm to get back to 70 mph. Then this process repeats.

Any thoughts?

Possibly the TCU (transmission control unit) has gone bad. I'd disconnect the battery, and let it set for a spell, then reconnect. I don't know if it will help, but it may reset it. Also, it would be a wise idea to see what a proper scan-tool pulls up any OBD codes.
