Default Cruze troubles

Took a 2012 cruze into a dealer for a simple oil change had something come up and drove the car 300 miles in a 2 day span and the day after i saw the engine was leaking. My wife said she heard a knocking noise so we called the dealership where we got the oil change done and told them what was happening so they said bring it in in a week which was today. Well when we talked with them this morning we told everything. Awhile later they called and said the drain plug was definately leaking and they were putting a dye in to see if its leaking elsewhere. They called back and said the oil pan needs replaced and it was 483$. I kinda flipped out because my thinking is we had no issues before hand so this was their error and they should fix it. I decided to drive up and talk with the service manager and we came to a conclusion we would pay for parts and thats it. Well when we asked about the rod knock he said there was no oil in engine so they couldnt start it obviously. So now im waiting till tomorrow for him to tell me about the rod which he said they were gonna try an oversize plug to fix it and while he is telling me this he says the heliocoil is bad that was put it by someone other than them(which is possible bought the car used for wife since she only puts 5 to miles a day on a car). I feel like im getting the shaft from the dealer anyone got any advice.
