Intermittent Flapping Noise
I have a 2016 Cruze. Yesterday when I was driving home from work, an odd flapping noise started happening in the general area of the front drivers side - either tirewell or under the hood. My first thought was a flat tire. I pulled over and the tire is fine. As I drove home, it came and went. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it - it will just start flapping for a few seconds, then stop. When I got home I looked under the hood and noticed that the cap for my windshield washer fluid was off - so I assumed it was that. Popped it back on. Drove to work this morning and got about 25 miles with no noise.....then it started again. I checked the cap again when I got to work and it was securely on. The sound is very intermittent - comes and goes. It is not related to turning, to driving at high or low speeds, the car being hot or cold, etc.... I can go 10, 15 minutes of driving with no noise and the all of a sudden "flap flap flap"....then it goes away again. I have no indicator lights on, tire pressure is normal. I just got an oil change and had to have new brakes about 4 months ago, as well as a new window motor installed. The sound is definitely not coming from the door - it is definitely the tirewell or engine compartment, and it is definitely coming from that front drivers side area. I can't seem to see anything that looks wrong under the hood or with the tire, but I'm far from a mechanic. Any thoughts?
