My car has been driving fine since the day I got it in 2019, however soon as I surpassed 100k miles last month my check engine light came on and the gears act erratic and doesn’t want to shift in the next gear. BUT when I manually clear the check engine light the car runs perfectly again until it pops up again which happens every once in a while…It’s an ongoing issue and I’m not sure what is going on. I know previously gears would jerk into gear sometimes, but didn’t think anything of it. So maybe that was early signs I never recognized?It’s the strangest thing…does anyone have any ideas what’s going on? TIA.

 

Start by having the codes scanned and load testing your battery.

 

With no data there is no telling "what's going on". You'll need to check some things like codes, fluid levels and so on. Follow the data.

 

The code is P0700. We checked the battery and was told it was good.

It sounds like there should be another code. Make sure when it scanned a good scanner is used that will read all the systems. The cheaper scanners will only scan one system. Use the link below to learn more:
