Default 1989 G20 van no longer charging battery.

Hello,

My 1989 G20 van died the other day. I found the battery had drained; and once recharging it, I found the alternator was not charging it. I disconnected the plug (see red circle in picture) out of the alternator and tested it with a multimeter. There is no power going to it when the key is turned. Should there be? Is there a relay/fuse that I should check? The second picture showed the fuse area, but nothing there relating to the alternator from what I could see.

Any advice?

Regards
Balquo

Pull your alternator have it checked at your local parts store. I assume putting meter on battery terminals while running shows under 13 volts??

Yes, 12.6 or around that when not running, and a little less when running.

I'll bet you need a new alternator, get it tested!
