here are some photos of the hinges, maybe that rust is a sign of what you guys are thinking is the issue?

yeah the driver's side looks especially wallered out. Which makes sense.

I had one that leaked and it was all the windshield seal. In fact they rot in that area so it's good to take it out and look over the channel, although that's much less likely in the northwest.

Thanks for your feedback guys, guess I’ll have them tackle the windshield and see what they find for leaks and probably just replace all of those bushings before continuing to replace the weatherstripping.

I kind of expect the 94 I just got to have leaks. Has a lot of rust around the windshield gasket. Which is a little odd as so far as I know it was always in the garage before I got it.

I noticed something interesting on mine; it has some rot around the windshield so I hit it with a wire brush to knock the loose stuff off and lo and behold the gasket is just for looks - by 1994 they were urethaned in. I don't know if there's any change to the lip or they use a tad bigger glass maybe. Would have to look at some interchange books.

So that is a possible solution here if you have leaks and it's still using the channel gasket deal.
