I recently acquired a 2019 chevrolet express 3500 with 230k on the clock, and just got done changing the transmission fluid and filter, and was aware of the issue with the thermal bypass valve on these transmissions. I was going to replace it with a non restrictive variant, but I dont see it where it would normally be? I see the lines in and out, but it just looks like a connector?
Where is the valve located on these vans?
Line in/out, where the thermal bypass valve should be?
Yea the 6L90 thermal bypass is actually pretty straight forward, you've got a valve that directs the transmission coolant around the oil cooler depending on the conditions of the transmission, some of the aftermarket upgrades can modify or plug this valve to improve performance but it's not a plug n play fix, you need to make sure you know your stuff before messing with it.
Oh I see, its not located on the bell housing like I've seen in videos mentioning the issue? Where is it located on these vans?
