Default chassis lubrication

Chevy Express 3500 cargo van

The shop manual (page 0-41) lists under "Chassis Lubrication" - "Lubrication Points":

1) Propeller Shaft-Slip Joint
2) Rear Axil Differential
3) Master Cylinder
4) Oil Filter
5) Steering Gear
6) Engine
7) Steering Linkage
8) Wheel Bearings
9) Transmission

Is it my imagination or did they just put everything that has something slippery on it?

Where would I grease the Rear Axil Differential, Master Cylinder, Oil Filter, Engine, or Transmission?
For that matter what do they have to do with the chassis?

Will someone please confirm for me that this list and diagram are for items to be lubricated over all?

There is a second list (page 0-37) that seems more to the point:
1) Front Suspension
2) Ball Joints (@ > 10 degrees F)
3) Steering Linkage
4) Trans Shift Linkage
5) Parking Brake cable GUIDES

Default front suspension - ball joints

2003 Chevy Express 3500

From what I understand the ball joints are the only greased parts of the front suspension.

Are there other parts in there I should be looking for?

If you are using a grease gun I think the only greasing points are indeed on the front steering linkages, ball joints etc , well thats all I could find when I did mine.
