Default Help diagnosing problem

Hi all.

I've been having some intermittent issues with my van the past week and can't seem to figure out the root. I hope you might have some ideas.

2017 Express 2500 extended WB w/ 200k I got it a year and a half ago and have had no issues. A few days ago. I got an abs light with the service stabilitrak and traction control warnings. Along with this i lont speedo and all gears except whatever one I was in when it faulted. I pulled battery and disconcted the abs harness connector to clean and inspect. Everything normal when reassembled. 2 days ago I was in traffic and when I went to go the van died. Crank no start. Got towed home. When I got home it started right up again and had codes U0109 and P0690. Cleared them and they haven't come back. This morning on the way to a job the abs light came back along with service traction control and stabilitrak. Any ideas where to start?

So there are clearly some.issues going on here...

Based on the two codes you pulled, it sounds like an electrical gremlin. Without knowing more, I would be inclined to think you have a bad ground somewhere that is causing the various lights/faults. It's probably worth checking around to see if you have solid connections to the frame and look at the wiring harness near the fuel module, gas tank, and any other ground straps.

You could have internally corroding battery cables. Happen to me once and even stumped my mechanic friend for a couple days. Cables are cheap. Replace them and the battery and the gremlins should go away.

Thanks all. I found the battery cable all corroded in the sheathing where it bolts to the engine. What pita to replace. No more issues
