sso I've been doing some research and it seems that all you gotta do is add a stalk that has cruise buttons on it and plus in that wire to existing plug on the harness and it should work.

so i bought one and installed it, everything on the stalk works but cruise

i saw some of this info on diesel forums somewhere, but i dunno if theres something different with gas powered cars...
plug was there and all.

so my question is this, is there possible a cruise control module or something? or is there a fuse that needs to be put in to enable this function?

hard to say as the year and engine are not known.


my 2000 4.8 truck with throttle cable had all the wiring and connectors in place. I just needed the multifunction switch and the stepper motor. No programming was required. drive by wire models or diesels are another story.

confirm that the wiring harness for the cruise stepper motor is present. If it is, salvage a switch and stepper motor from the wrecking yard and plug it in.

for my 2000 sierra, the wiring harness was located on the left side of the firewall. No mounting studs were present so I removed the cowl and wiper transmission then drilled holes and installed bolts to mount the stepper motor.

 

what about the gas pedal?

 

the cruise control stepper motor cable attaches to the throttle plate next to the throttle cable. inspect your throttle body and you will see where the cable attaches.

you wouldn't happen to have any part number or pics of the parts needed?
it would be greatly appreciated to know what i need to be getting.

also, will i be able to find these parts on any other vehicles other than express and savana? (going to savannah georgia actually hehe)

I went to a picknpull wrecking yard and pulled the switch and stepper motor off a slt equipped version of my truck...cost approx. $50. to buy new in my area its $400
