2001 Chevy Express Cutaway converted to Roadtrek RV. Rear leaf springs are not very springy anymore so decided to replace. Alignment shop wanted to put in custom 10 leaf, well over a $1000 just for the springs. Did some reading and could not see any advantage to spending that much.
I found the search for spings confusing as there are quite a few different spings for my van and all the confirmation I could get was the springs would fit my unit. I did not want to get involved in the expense or issues of trying to return the wrong parts as the springs very heavy! Turns out my springs are an 8 leaf spring referred to as RV springs. Poked around the net and found that buying OE Chevy was actually the cheapest way to go, no shipping charge and no hassle returns! Take parts back to dealer!

Wow that's awesome!!
I needed this information as I think I may need new leafs,
Looks like you got a 5/1 is you van a 3500 HD?
I currently have 3/1 and am considering a 4/1 from rock auto price is a bit cheaper than GM for a 2013 Savana 2500.

those RoadTreks are built on a cutaway van, probably a 3500 or 4500 like the school and shuttle buses. They use a different chassis than a 2500, with a bigger rear axle, narrower, heavier frame rails and much bigger leaf springs.

Info on springs for my 01 3500 Cut away was not clear to me. If for some reason I had to return the springs the freight would have been huge. GM has 30 day no hassle return policy. Only downside is picking up from or returning to dealer.

Glad you mentioned that now I think it's better to visit my local dealer first!
If I have to return the item they're just 10 minutes away no extra cost,
I'll wait to see if I can even get the old ones off my underbody is rusty and I'm good at breaking heads off the bolts,
Hopefully they'll come out easy and I won't break nothing...
