Question Spare tire key?

Hey everyone! new to the thread, from Chicago!

I have been having an issue since I got my '09 2500: spare tire theft is a problem here in the city, and I don't really know how to address the issue. I think I found a solution to the tire itself, but Chevy doesn't do much to prevent access to the spare tire hoist.

For those of you who don't know, you access the spare tire hoist through an open tube in the rear bumper. The doors cover the opening of the tube about halfway when closed, but it can be easily pried up with a crowbar. I know others who have had their tire stolen simply by sticking a flat rod into the tube and lowering the spare after prying the door. Aside from the small dent in the door and a missing spare tire, there is no other sign of theft!

I took a look at my cousin's Tahoe (I want to say its an '04) because Chevy not only covers the opening with a plastic latch, but also uses a lock on the end of the access tubes on their SUV's. The key for the lock is the same as the ignition key, how ingenious! Simply by using the ignition key, you are able to remove the lock from the tube housing and get to the tire winch.

After all that, my question is: Does anyone know where I can find a lock/key mechanism like this? It is a simple enough idea, it's a circular lock that comes apart from its housing when the key is turned to open. Does Chevy sell them as parts? Or is there a key store that makes something like it? Thanks!
