2009 Silverado Stabiltrak/Traction Control/Reduced Engine Power/Loss of Oil Pressure
So i was driving home in the rain a few days ago when I stopped abruptly, skidding about 15 ft. I didn't hit anything, i just stopped.
Immediately afterwards, my dash screen said "Reduced Engine power, Service Stabiltrak, and Service Traction Control."
I pulled into a near by gas station, killed power and restarted. The faults went away and i was able to drive home (about 1 mile away).
The next day the faults came back, and another fault appeared. "Oil Pressure Low. Turn off engine." Also the battery died. I was able to get it started again, but it doesn't seem to be holding a charge. I don't think this is a problem because i wasn't giving it enough time to charge before i killed the engine due to the fault indication. Checked the oil and it seems fine, though i am due for an oil change.
The engine fault code is P0641 which is an open circuit. Engine is 5.3. Z71.
Does anyone know whats going on or has had this problem before? Any advice would be very much appreciated. This is my last resort before taking it to the shop.
Thanks -Pat
