Check the voltage at the battery while it is not running.Than again while it is running. The difference is the charging system. It's the charging system that I think isn't working so the engine is running totally off the battery and killing it.

Let us know what you have found.

Stereo???.Is that a new addition??.

Sounds like the source of the problem would be in the positive connection between the battery and the fuse center.

Higates62,

Welcome to the Chevy Forums.

Ignore this if you've already done it, but replace your battery cables. The battery cables can cause you a world of grief.
They tend to corrode from the inside, under the insulation. Don't forget the engine-to-firewall ground strap.

As your wires corrode, your battery CCAs wind up going to heating up corrosion in your wires, instead of going to your starter.
