2008 GMC Envoy Denali 4x4

The doors lock a few seconds after the vehicle is started, door open or door closed, doesn't matter.

It makes it really easy to lock the keys inside with it running when you go to start it and warm it up. Super annoying. I've done a fair bit of research and couldn't find anyone with a similar issue.

Per the owners manual, Ive tried reprogramming the auto-lock. I have the same issue in mode 1 or 2. The first time I set it in program mode and tried to change the mode, I either get 2 fast dings, or 2 slow dings. There was no 1 ding. The second time, it seemed to work as it was supposed to, had the 1 ding and the 2 ding. Third try was the same as the first, 2 fast, or 2 slow dings. Regardless, neither mode should lock the doors on startup though. As far as I can tell, everything works as it should. How do I remedy this???

 

I had to go into the program and set it to lock after vehicle is rolling - sry I can’t check the exact sequence because I can’t run the engine…long ugly story.
