Default ECM issues

just did a little transplant, put a 454 out of a 91 454ss truck in a 4 wheel drive k1500 witha 700r4; it now has no lock up because the ECM in the truck is set up for a th400; since the 700r4 is built for 450hp no use in putting in a tranny with less gears so i have a brand new in the box chevy ECM, is it possible to have that programmed to be a 7.4 with a 700r4 to gain lock up?
is it possible to take the prom out of a 7.4 computer and put it in my ECU that went with the 5.7 we removed?
i'm not really sure exactly what information is stored on the prom in the computer
any help is greatly appreciated

Neither the th400 or the 700r4 is an electronic trans, are you sure that is the problem?

in the 1987 and later TBI injected engines that came with the th400 trans, the computer controlled the wide open throttle kick down switch on the TH400; the 700r4 has electronically controlled torque converter lock up. I'm trying to figure out if i can get a computer for a 7.4l with the lock up controls for a 700r4

if thats a bust I can always go out and buy a TCI wire up kit for non ECM vehicles and get 4th gear lock up but i'd rather have it all stock, since so far i've made no wiring modifications to make this work.

How about an ECM out of an '95 3/4-1 ton?

Only reason I suggest this one is 'cause it's the only one I have had experience with.
454, 4-wheel drive, 700R4

the problem i run into is, and I've never actually seen a 454 hooked up to a 700r4 from the factory, in 93 they started using the 4l80e electronic controlled trans. i've contemplated putting one in, but i'd need computer, wiring, and a throttle body that accepts the different TPS sensor plug on that harness, i've done lots of homework, i've also concidered buying a computer for a 454 with a 4 or 5 speed just to see what happens

The TPS sensor connection isn't that big of a deal. Mine had the round type connector and the Holley TB I put on had a flat connector. I cut a flat connector off of a donor and spliced it together, they both have the same 3 wire.
