Default engine not firing on all cylinders

Hello I have a 1984 chevy s10 truck in wich i installed a 267ci chevy v8 from a 1981 chevy monte carlo .
the problem i am having is that cylinder 6 and cylinder 8 don't seem to be firing ? I have spark at the wire and at the plug, and i seem to have good compression on the cylinders 160 psi I have the plug wires in the proper places on the distributer , now when i took out the plugs in these cylinders they seem to look like they got hot (whiteish) and have a little bit of black carbon deposits .

The motor sat fro aprox 4 years before installing it and running it .

could it be that the valves are sticking and not letting fuel into the cylinders?

or is it somthing total different and what can i do to fix this?

thanks in advance for any and all help.

Default RE: engine not firing on all cylinders

Sounds like the head gasket is broken between the 2 cylinders

Is the coolant low? is there white smoke when its running?
