Ok so having some issues with my truck. Just had a rear rim repaired and climbed under the trucks rear bumper to get a photo of how big the bead is on the weld. (Kind of worried it may effect wheel sensors). Any whoo, looked up to the right of the spare and notice a plate ( very rusted ) and this module attached (Theft Deterrent Module). Does this module, need to be grounded? it wasnt even strapped on to the plate screw. So this thing is hopping around,getting beat up. Now, I know if truck starts this allows the truck to get into its proper positioning to get on the road. But what happens if this shorts or disconnects during a drive? I OBD2 the truck, no such codes pop up for the Theft Deterrent.
