My 2001 GMC Safari has a service engine soon code of P1345.
The van has 75k and never had a problem until now. I did change
the cap and rotor and the light came back on. Please help

Well your code P1345 = Camshaft to Crankshaft position Sensor Correction Fault
Changing the cap and rotor ( although wouldn't hurt ) won't correct this fault.
There is a problem with the cam position sensor circuit or the crank position circuit.

 

Thanks for the help. The engine was also making a slight tapping noise from the front.
I replaced the Crankshaft Position Sensor and the noise stopped and the check engine light is now off. The part was $60 at AutoZone and they loan you the OBCII Scanner at the store.

Now do I need to replace the cam position sensor??????
P1345 code..

 

Installed new cam position sensor and the damn light is still on.

Any help would be appreciated,, thanks.

 

try disconnecting the battery for a bit to see if that will reset the computer
or u might have to have the code cleared with a scantool of some sort
assuming that the problem is fixed

Thanks, I cleared the code with a scan tool, but it comes right back.
Any other suggestions???
