I've got a 96 c1500 4.3. It won't start. I have fuel pressure and spark. I pour gas into throttle body and it runs. I changed the fuel pump and still won't start. What should I do next? I have fuel I have spark..what could it be?

 

Fuel pressure regulator or the injectors are possibilities

 

How did you know you have fuel pressure? The description is very vague. Was it checked with a gauge? What was your actual pressure reading?

 

How do I check if its the injectors or regulator? I dot want to change all these parts and still have a truck that doesn't run. So I'd like to test any possibility. Haven't had a pressure gauge on it but it sprays out strong.

 

You say that it sprays out strong. What is the difference between spraying strong and pouring gas down the throttle body? If it runs for one it should run for the other!

 

10-20 psi will look like a lot out of the little tiny schrader valve but it will not run the truck. You must have 60-66psi. If you are adding fuel to make it run then you have a not enough fuel problem. You must check the fuel pressure with a gauge or nothing else matters. It is the first step in diagnosing your problem.

 

Did you replace the fuel filter?

Also if fuel pressure is 5-10 psi lower than spec, the poppet style injectors in your truck do not fire properly

 

I think I'm goin to sell my truck. I found a nice 87 with a 305. Old style throttle body. If I have any problems with that truck I will defenately be back on here. Thanks for all the help.
