rear popping

Default rear popping

I have a 1994 chevy 1500 and when its cold after starting and leting it warm up for a little bit i put it in gear and start moving it pops a couple of times then it gose away what is this popping?

I have a feeling that your rear end gear oil fluid might be low. It sounds like when you let the truck sit over night all the fluid drains off the gears, when there is no fluid it makes a popping sound, socheck your fluid level and see what happens. Unless, you didn't put a lift kit on your truck did you? If you did your fluid might not be low it could just be at a different level point.

Check your u-joints.

If your fluid level is okay and u joints i would suggest checking your pinion bearing I had this prob. on a 98
