Default Remote starter distance

I recently purchased an 08 Silverado z71 that has a manufacturer installed remote start system. I have to be standing within a 10 yard radius of the truck for it to work. Any suggestions on how to increase the distance here? The dealership said they put a new battery in the fob but that doesn't seem to correct the problem. Should I replace the battery again? Any ideas?

Mine works from much further away. The may sound strange, but try it put the fob to you chin then push the button.

It uses you head as an antenna. Probably will find out it causes cancer though, then again everything does.
