I've got a 2000 silverado 4x4 thats starting to knock on me and shift hard.(190k)
I've got a real good deal on a 5.3l and trany from a 2009 silverado 4x4(rolled over) with 19k on it. what sort of problems if any would i run into swaping the two 5.3ls and would it be possible to swap the tranys as well?
I think they had a 6 speed in the 2009s and a 4 speed in 2000.

Any advice would be great.

Since the 2009 has Active fuel management and the 2000 does not I' think you would need the complete wiring harness and computers from the 09. Also the gauges may not read correctly and you would have trouble getting an inspection passed if your state has that program.
