Default Tranny questions

I have a short box 1982 Chevy 1/2 ton and the tranny in it need a rebuild it's and automatic but instead of rebuilding it I would like to put a manual tranny in. But the tranny that it would be coming out of is a long box Chevy. So my question is... Are the trannys from a long box different size to a short box? Can I just swap them out and everything will be perfect or will the drive shaft need modifications?
Thanks!

the transmission between the long box and short box are the same (the driveshaft is the difference. now the manual transmission will probably have a different length than the automatic transmission, but hopefully it is close enough that you can use the same driveshaft.
obviously you will need:
1. Bell housing
2. Clutch
3. Crossmember
4. a way to do a Pedal conversion
5. Linkage for your clutch pedal
6. Gear shifter
are you getting all this out of the long box?
