Default What is the difference: RKE/Passive

Hello, I have an 2004 Malibu Maxx (love it!) and my alarm is going crazy.
I was messing with the DIC and set the securtiy to from "Passive to"RKE".
Now the alarm goes off 1 minute after my car is off and alarm is armed.

Ill be honest I dont know what the difference between RKE and Passive is.
I have placed it back to Passive to stop the problem.

What is the difference between RKE and Passive for the Security Setting in a Malibu DIC ?

Thanks,

Drew

RKE stands for Remote Keyless Entry. Passive means that you do not have to do anything to active something.
That being said, that alarm shouldn't arm unless you lock the doors using your key fob, when in RKE mode. and when in passive mode, it should arm itself probably after a minute of inactivity.
