2001 Chevy Impala no start (passlock) Need help
Hello, My gf bought this car from a used lot about a year ago and it worked fine for around 3/4ths of a year and has been sitting dead in my driveway since. I did some looking and it seemed that the biggest culprit was the "pass lock" system. I decided to replace the ignition switch and after that did not work I installed The bypass resistor thing with no luck. After this didn't work I looked more on YouTube and tried multiple different ideas like, resetting the alarm on the radio, messing with fuses, and such. I have tried to make it relearn the key multiple times throughout all of the fixes with no luck.
This is her only car and only form of transportation. and she cannot afford to take it into a shop at the moment, or buy another car, (rent, insurance, normal expenses). Running out of ideas and looking for any form of help, I am not super mechanical but can make my way around the car confidently. I have attached a video that shows what the issue was. Im just running out of ideas and am willing to take any help anyone can provide.
Seeing as she will likely be having to live in my car pretty soon, and cant have it parked here this is decently urgent
Please provide decently clear instructions because I have issues with mechanical knowledge.
Thanks
