Default 2001 Impala 3.4L

I recently bought a used Impala, at first the car ran great drove smooth no problems what so ever. after the 3rd or 4th time using the car i noticed that when i turned the key it would take longer to start or turn over. then lately its not even turning over. ive tried all the little tricks like turning the key and leaving for 10 minutes and locking and unlocking doors, still no luck. i've read up on it and it could be a few things, the BCM, PCM, fuel pump, ignition, etc etc etc. just about anything. i can't even get it on to get it to a mechanic.

this is my second car, im not too savvy but i know the basics. please no hate. lol

i disconnected the battery the past hour or so and connected it back. now theres less of a kick. more of a whine when i go to start it. even if theres is a temp fix someone may know so i can get it to a mechanic do share, i'm a teen parent who needs this car for work, school, and getting to the next town for doctors appointments. i don't have enough to get the car towed and repaired.

Have you tested the battery ? It sounds like a worn out battery, it could be that simple.

I'm guessing you don't have a multimeter...

Take your current battery in for core exchange and ask them to check it out and measure the voltage of it.

i have been searching on the web past few days, when i turn the key to on a lot of messages display (low fluids, door ajar, battery, security) and most people say its cause of the antitheft system, i dont have the remote key, and the key i have is a bit worn. do you think this may be the cause of my problems?

It could very well be the security system, but not the key. I had a 2001 3.8 Impala and had a similar problem and it was the BCM (Body Control Module) The part was about $200 (maybe cheaper now) and $59 to have the dealer program it to the vehicle with a Tech 2. Your first post sounded like a battery, but if you have good power it could very well be the BCM.

i bought a new battery and the car worked for a day, i had to do the 10 minute thing to get it started each time though. now its doing the same thing again and the 10 minutes relearn is not working. i got 2 new keys cut at the dealership, they only work on the locks, wont even turn the ignition. bringing it to a mechanic hopefully tomorrow if i can get my insurance to tow it. sucks ive had this car less than a month and ive had more problems with it than i did with my 2003 hyundai sonata which i had for several years...
