I drive a 2011 Impala LT and I am thinking about going to E-85 because of gasoline prices. Tell me about your experience with E85 ethanol. Good or bad.

 

I have not used E-85, but it is less efficient than gasoline. You will not get the same fuel economy, probably 25 to 30 percent less. You have to determine if that will still overcome the price of gasoline. E-85 was created more so as a more environmentally friendly alternative to gasoline, not as a efficient replacement. It cost less than gasoline, but gives you less than gasoline.

 

Don't everybody jump in there at once, you'll crash the web.

 

That probably means no one here uses it.


Why would you put that junk in your car?
