I'm restoring my 67 Implala and have ran into a problem. I removed the fuel tank to inspect for rust and replace my fuel level sender. Fuel tank is in good condition but the fuel pick up is round and u can't see the fuel level sender. I was told by a classis car parts store that they can only get the type that u can see the fuel sender and it want work in my tank. Has anyone ever ran it to this before and will the kind they sale work in place of my solid type fuel sender. I'm thinking about buying it and see if it will work.

 

I'm confused? That should have a level switch.

 

What I have is only a fuel pick up or sock on the bottom of a large round container. It has two wires coming out of the top. One goes to ground and the other goes to fuel gauge.

 

Dunno if it's not a float on an arm attached to a variable resistor, sorry?
