1972 Chevy K5 blazer making popping sound threw the carb and hesitation
I'm looking for some help I have a 1972 Chevy K5 Blazer. It's got a small block 350 within aftermarket Edelbrock electric fuel pump, everything else is original. The truck will start up and idle just fine. But as soon as I put my foot on the gas it starts making a loud popping noise through the carburetor. If I put it in drive and give it gas it will continue to make the popping noise constantly and sometimes will hesitate to the point where the truck dies. I've tried everything I know how to do such is a new distributor, new spark plugs, new wires, new coil, new condenser, new battery, change the oil, new training fluid, the person who own the truck before me must not have been up on their oil changes because when I took off the valve covers there was a ton of sludge, I sea foamed the valve train and got all the sludge out. I did a compression test and all the cylinders we're around 130. I have timing set where it tells me to be. It's got the original Rochester quad jet carburetor. I live in Colorado get the altitude have something to do with it? It's at the point where I can't drive it on the main road because I can't go over 20 mph especially while going uphill without a dying. I appreciate anybody's knowledge that can help. I'm still learning so if I left some information out my apologies just let me know what else you would need to know and I could try to get the information for you
